Good afternoon, I'm interested in knowing how proactive parents and teachers are with PHSC in the West Philadelphia community. Specifically, what is the number of parents/ staff who are registered members of PHSC at those schools? Is there a resource at your site to obtain these figures? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
As a consumer I am always gauging the quality of a product and or service along with being familiar with the product 's written reporting and refund process. Where may I find your written instructions on incident reporting and reimbursement of dues in the event of failure to produce quality representation and service(s) reflective of your mission statement and detailed scope ? WHERE CAN I FIND THE MEMBERS HAND BOOK. I NEED THE INFORMATION IN IT. TO DO MY JOB TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. THERE IS SOME THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON THAT ARE NOT BY THE BOOK.

How do i start a home and school association at my son's school? He attends Southwark Elementary, and it does not have a home and school or a SAC.
Where can I get a copy of the H & S bylaws? I had a packet in the office & miss placed it. Looked onlilne,but couldnt find them.Wanted to print them out!
my daughter attended Austin Meehan middle school and graduated on Thursday at fels school. the problem is all the children that graduated weren't recognized at the ceremony. my daughter MICHELLE M> BROWN's name was not called with the graduates. something needs to be done about this. she had perfect attendance since she has been in that school. I called for the principal and she has not called be back yet to explain what happened. I later found out that other students were not called either. how can these children be recognized now.................my name is marlene Frazier and I expect someone to get back to me. my phone number is 2672359495.

Where can I find the General Membership Application?
Answer: Under the Resources and Materials tab on this website. Don't forget to mail in the signature page.

Can the president be an employee of the School District?
Answer: Strictly speaking, yes. Although, any person who is an employee of the School District cannot also be a signer on the checking account.

Where can I buy a used computer?
Answer: NTR

What is the main office number?
Answer: 215-400-4080

Why should we pay dues?
Answer: Your dues payment is used to purchase insurance to cover your Association for fund raising and any other Association sponsored activities. So if you do not pay you will not be able to hold meeting and events or raise money. You will not receive updates on Leadership Handbooks and Constitution and Bylaws. You will not be invited to Councils' Annual Awards Dinner or be entitled to use Council members to train, inform or assist your Association in any way.

When is our membership fee due?
Answer: Membership dues are to be mailed back to Council immediately after receiving your notice from COuncil and no later than December 31st. Applications are sent to all Association in the beginning of the new school year.

What penalty will my Association suffer for not paying dues on time?
Answer: Your Association will not be able to vote in a Home & School Election if the dues are not received by December 31st of that year. Also you HSA should not have funds raises and most importantly, take part in site selections at your school.

How long are our dues in effect?
Answer: Dues cover the period from July 1st through August 30th of the school year for which they were paid.

How are we supposed to pay for dues if we are not allowed to fund raise?
Answer: Every Association is permitted to run a Membership Drive. This is a fee paid to you for the privilege of being a member of your Association. Funds collected from this effort can be used to pay your dues. Some Associations plan ahead and keep minimum start up funds in their treasurer for the next school year.

How does a newly formed Association handle paying dues?
Answer: After an election is held the newly formed Association should contact their Representative or the Home & School Council office to request an application.

If our Association is formed in January are our dues in effect until the following January?
Answer: No! Dues are in effect for one school year only! When a school is added to the policy later in the year it still costs us the same amount for the shorter period of time and you are only covered until the end of the school year. One school year is July 1st through June 30th.

If our new Association is not formed until very late in the school year do we still have to pay dues?
Answer: Yes, if you are planning any H&S function for later that same school year.

Can Title I pay for food at meetings?
Answer: Yes, but schools and H&Ss must jump through a bunch of hopes such as the agenda must be Title I content.

Can schools ask parents to sign a title I sheet at a home and school meeting?
Answer: Yes, if the content is Title I related. Agenda must be forwarded to the Title I office.

Does Title I pay for AP or dual enrollment classes?
Answer: Generally no. A few years ago the State questions why we pay for advanced placement when so many of our students are failing.

Is SES part of Title I?
Answer: Yes. SES is targets to specific students and send to their homes. Every school that receives Title I funds must be providing some tutoring.

Will Title I pay for parent volunteer incentives?
Answer: No. There was a program called Parent Scholars out of Title I but it is no longer in the District.
